Mission
It is the overall mission of the Foundation to promote excellence and enhance the effectiveness of the Elizabethtown Police Department; and, in so doing, improve or enhance public safety in the City of Elizabethtown.
The Foundation encourages and supports the Elizabethtown Police Department in three main areas:
- Projects, research studies and equipment to improve police activities
- Education and training to strengthen the partnership between the police and the public
- Support officers, staff and their families in time of crisis
Through the Foundation’s added support of the Elizabethtown Police Department, we will help ensure that the City of Elizabethtown becomes Kentucky’s safest city.

“There is nothing more important to a successful relationship between a community and its police department than mutual trust and respect. I have worked for several agencies in my career, serving communities large and small. The community members of Elizabethtown and their police department exemplify an exceptional level of mutual trust and respect. This Foundation is but one example of the appreciation and supports our community provides as a result of this relationship. I’m exceedingly proud of each member of the Elizabethtown Police Department for their individual and collective efforts to serve with passion and commitment to us all. I am also very proud of this community and its willingness to participate as a partner with these officers by way of this Foundation.”
